All of these goals are definitely plausible, but without more public support (and tax money) I doubt this can happen.

Rainmaker is also one of the last remaining the homes of the Harlequin Toad, which was once thought to be extinct. (Related Article). [...]

While the footprint calculations may seem quite off, what these measure is CARBON DIOXIDE weight, and not just carbon. So while there is less than 14tons of carbon in a jetliners worth of fuel (made up of nearly all just carbon and hydrogen... carbon being much heavier than hydrogen), once mixed and burned with oxygen the carbon dioxide output of the jet engines ends up being many more tons heavier than the jetfuel alone. Oxygen is #8 on the periodic table, Carbon is #6... so in a CO2 molecule, about 3/4 of the molecular weight is from the oxygen... So carbon dioxide output of a jet engine should be about 250-300% more in tonage than the fuel going in...

Can Kevin's solutions be put into practice? Most definitely! We haven't found the exact formula yet, but we are working with a few small (100 acre) farms in Northern Costa Rica to find a good mix of trees to exactly put into practice this tridimentional economic model - plant a variety of trees and selectively harvest/maximize low impact recreational activities/apply for carbon credits.
There still is a lot to learn, but blogs and websites like these promote sharing of information and best practices.
Thank you

At Carbonfund.org, we agree that several methods must be taken to fight climate change.

Like the Eco Preservation Society, we promote education and reduction before offsetting, and even our project portfolio represents a multi-faceted approach: we support renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects.

As already suggested, fighting global warming will take a global effort that we empower others to take part of.
